Paperless CAT a new experience

An all-new CAT is all set to be out of the bag. In its online avatar this year, it will not only offer a new experience to aspirants but also put the examination infrastructure to test. As the date for applications draws closer, Shailvee Sharda takes you on a guided tour to the most prestigious gateway to B-schools.

Lucknow: When budding managers bury their heads in extended hours of strategy-making, learn news tricks of algebra and mathematics and try to add six packs to their word power, you know it’s time to bell the CAT. This year, however, the ground has changed and needs redrawing of strategy.

To begin with, the perforated answer-sheet in which one had to fill tiny ovals to mark one’s answers is history now. The Common Admission Test (CAT), the most high profile entrance test for admissions to Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other prestigious B-school, is going paperless and will be held online.
